Our on-site visit to Indigo Sky Casino in Lafayette, Oklahoma, was an adventure filled with incredible experiences, wonderful people, and exciting opportunities. We’re beyond thrilled to be working on building a digital twin of this beautiful casino for our virtual worlds. This project is about more than just technology; it’s about capturing the spirit and vibrancy of a place that’s truly the tribal gem of the Four Corners area of Eastern Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma (ESTOO).
Lafayette is nestled in a region where Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, and Arkansas converge. It’s a place where rich culture meets natural beauty, offering a perfect backdrop for Indigo Sky Casino, which has become a beloved landmark in this region.
A huge thank you to our tribal lobbyist, Chris Gallardo for introducing LLG, and all the tribal members of ESTOO for running such a well-organized and beautiful casino. Indigo Sky is more than just a gaming destination; it’s a shining example of what community and heritage can build. The attention to detail, the commitment to guest experience, and the sheer beauty of the casino itself made our task of creating a digital twin both an honor and a challenge we’re eager to take on.
Now, about the BBQ – how could we not mention it? We wrapped up our visit with a stop at an amazing BBQ spot in Joplin. The flavors, the smoky aroma, and that fall-off-the-bone goodness made it the perfect way to close out our trip. It was a true taste of the region and a memorable send-off after a week of hard work and fun.
One of the highlights of our visit was the OK Consortium panel, where our very own COO, Bobby Mann, got the chance to step in and share insights on our project and the future of gaming. It was an honor to contribute to such a respected forum and to be part of the conversation shaping the future of tribal gaming.
Of course, we have to give a massive shoutout to Sandra Wong and Scott Halford, who absolutely stole the show at the skeet shooting and gun range at Shawnee Skies! 🎯 They were the shooting stars of the day, showcasing some impressive skills and adding an extra layer of excitement to the trip that followed up a golf tournament, where LLG managed to snag the longest drive! 🏌️♂️ The tournament was the perfect mix of friendly competition and good times, with everyone enjoying the beautiful Oklahoma scenery and great company.
Our thanks wouldn’t be complete without acknowledging the incredible hospitality we received. A big thank you to Justin Barrett for his support, and to Indigo Sky Casino Manager Melanie Haskett for making sure our stay was smooth and enjoyable. Tim at Shawnee Skies, Shawn Daughtry and Chad Kelly, thank you for your hospitality and for making us feel right at home. Your generosity made our time in Oklahoma even more special.
Meeting the Chief was another highlight, and learning about the cultural significance of the casino added depth to our project. We’re committed to honoring that heritage in the virtual world we’re creating.
This trip wasn’t just about creating a digital twin; it was about embracing the essence of Indigo Sky Casino and the community that makes it special. We can’t wait to bring this incredible place into the digital realm and share its magic with the world.
Thank you to everyone who made this trip possible. Your hospitality, kindness, and partnership mean the world to us. Here’s to the journey ahead! 🎉
